I think the key implication for biology (and to some extent, other fields) is a transition from generally maintstream "reductionist" approach of viewing things (like a "one target-on ligand" strategy in drug discovery) to a holistic modeling and research strategies. In the latter, you have sufficient digital representaiton of the entire system to be able to answer questions directly from the system as it is, without the need to reductionism and simplifications.
